Veteran rocker Sting will take his music to the historic Odeon of Herodes Atticus, know to Greeks as the Irodion, at the base of Acropolis in Athens.The two shows, on June 22-23, 2018 will be part of the former Police frontman’s summer European tour and part of the Athens and Epidaurus Festival.
An announcement on Sting’s web site promises the concerts will “undoubtedly be the music event of the year.At…a venue of unique acoustic and historical significance, Sting will give 2 concerts to the Greek audience that will be remembered for a long time!
Composer, singer-songwriter & activist Sting was born in Newcastle before moving to London in 1977 to form The Police with Stewart Copeland & Andy Summers.
The band released five studio albums, earned six Grammy Awards and two Brits, and was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
