The Famous Navagio Beach In Zakynthos Island

Navagio or Shipwreck Beach, is an exposed cove, sometimes referred to as “Smugglers Cove”, on the coast of Zakynthos, in the Ionian Greek Islands. This is  one of the most famous and most photographed beaches in Greece.

This charming beach with deep blue cold waters, surrounded by high white cliffs, can be accessed by boat from various ports of the island, such as Zakynthos Town, Alykes, Porto Vromi or Schinari.

Navagio Beach took this name when a smuggler ship wrecked on its shore in 1983. The ship was abandoned and still rests buried in white sandy dunes of the beach that now bears the nickname Navagio (Shipwreck).
