Greece’s Tourism Minister, told media that she expects the number of tourist arrivals this year to exceed the previous record of 30.5 million.

“If we managed to attract 30.5 million tourists last year, with a 20% increase in early bookings and a 5% increase in flights (compared to the previous year), my estimation for 2018 is that Greece will see at least 1.5 million more visitors,”
This is due to the fact that Greece is now starting to become an all year round destination, with March-November being great months to travel around the islands.
Greece’s Tourism Minister also said that British leisure travel group TUI, have an invested half a billion euros on Crete and another 5 billion for 10 very large projects that are in progress, which is set to attract more tourists to the area
