Greece reopens Cafes & Restaurants a week earlier, on May 25
Greece will open cafes and restaurants a week earlier than originally scheduled, that is instead of June 1, on May 25, the government announced.
The government had submitted a relevant proposal to the committee of health experts at the Health Ministry. The Infectious Diseases Committee gave positive recommendations for the reopening on May 25. The facilities will open with implementing a series of safety, hygiene, and social distancing measures to avoid the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision for the earlier opening has taken into account the latest development of the coronavirus epidemiological data. Greece started with the gradual lifting of lockdown restrictions on May 4, shops.
