An earthquake occurred at 11.50pm on Tuesday in Athens, Greece. According to the information, the vibration was 4.2 on the Richter scale.
The shake was felt in the area and there are reports that the earthquake was accompanied by a loud noise. However, no major damage has been reported.
The Director of the Geodynamic Institute and Chairman of the Earthquake Protection Agency Efthimios Lekkas presented his first statements.
Mr. Lekkas reports that the earthquake was felt in Attica region (Athens) due to its small focal depth. He noted that there is no cause for concern and that seismologists are monitoring the phenomenon.
