Earthquakes measuring 3.9R and 3.4R rocked the Greek island of Crete on Thursday night. The epicenter was south of the island and was particularity felt also in Agios Nikolaos but in Heraklio City as well.

The focal depth was 2 kilometers. Two smaller tremors followed this time in the maritime area in the south of the Heraklio prefecture of Crete. There are no reports about injuries or material damage, so far.
The first tremor with 3.9R occurred ten minutes after the earthquake, and the second with 3.4R just minutes later. The Greek Earthquake Planning and Protection Organization said that seismologists closely monitor the phenomenon.
